You may have noticed a new widget in the sidebar below the recent posts widget. This is Blog Rush, a new blog syndication service by John Resse, that has just entered beta testing.
I removed a few widgets to make room for Blog Rush, to test out the results on my blog traffic. This of course is being tested along side of the Exit Explosion applet. (annoying yes/no?). I may or may not keep this widget, depending upon my test results. If traffic increases substantially over the next few days and weeks, I may carve out a permanent place for the widget into my new and improved blog design (coming soon).

As an affiliate, I hope you realize the power of using a blog, and especially a Wordpress blog for your promotions. As your blog ages and you gain backlinks, you’ll see it quite easy to dominate the SERPs for keywords you post on. (ie: do a search for “keyword xray” on any engine).

I apologize for any problems accessing my site within the last day. I was doing a routine backup, then an upgrade to Wordpress 2.1.3. I try to update as soon as possible, but 2.1.3 had already been out for a while and I was overdue to upgrade. Instead of a smooth update though, something went wrong and I lost all CSS formatting of my site. All seems to be ok now, but it took some digging through the WP forum to figure it out.

The other day I listened to a call on Brad Callen’s “Elite Sessions”, and the guest speaker was an SEO expert and fellow Wordpress blogger named Sherman Hu. I hadn’t heard of him before, but since he’s an avid blogger and knows the best tactics for getting the most out of Wordpress, I was interested in hearing what he had to say. (sorry, the MP3 for the call is only available to customers who’ve purchase Keyword Elite or SEO Elite)

If you’ve stopped by in the past few days, you might have noticed the site was down. In total it was down for more than 6 hours due to a server problem at my webhost, 1and1. Until now, I’ve never had an issue with them, but 6 hours of downtime with no email or notification of the problem, that doesn’t fly to well with me. I’ll give them this one, but if it happens again, I’ll look into moving hosting providers. I’m trying to start a business, and the last thing I need is for new users to come to a flaky webpage.
