Day 1 | Part 3 (Quick Product Evaluation)
I call it quick product evaluation, since we’ll do a thorough eval once we’ve created our short list. Since time is valuable, you don’t want to spend tons of time running all the number at this point. Using the above steps, we search the marketplace, get a feel for the numbers, and go a quick skim of the sale letter. If all looks good, we can write the product down on our list. Just remember, we are writing the product down for further investigation. It does not mean we are going to promote the product. That decision will be made once we have a bit more information.
Criteria to keep in mind when creating your list:
- Decent $/sale earned
- Low refunds (use mentioned calculator)
- 30-100 grav (my preferred choice)
- Decent sales page
After I look at some of the basic stats, I’ll click the “view pitch page” link to view the product’s sales page (I won’t read it yet). I do a quick skim to determine if it’ll be worth my time to proceed further with the product. If I see a horrible sales page, I usually forget it and dump the product. (or I can create my own page and bypass the vendor’s site. Ask the vendor first).
What to look for when evaluating the sales page:
- Captivating Headline (very important)
- Good Sales Copy
- Benefits, Benefits, Benefits
- Testimonials
- Name Squeeze
- Quality Bonuses
- Money-back Guarantee
- Strong Call to Action
Optional points, but not mandatory:
- Up-Sell to Higher Ticket Product (more commissions for you)
- Affiliate Tools (vendor provided affiliate support)
Basically, if you’ve seen any number of standard issue Internet marketing sales pages, you know what to look for. They all use the same basic sales process because it works. If you want to rewrite sales letter, you need to study copywriting. Another thing I’ll do is view the sales page in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. (the 2 most popular web browsers). You want to make the sure page displays properly in both browsers, otherwise you’ll kick yourself for loosing customers you send to a broken sales page.
Here’s the list I came up with: (not ranked in any particular order)
- Amazing Wedding Planning
- Sure2Profit Calculator Pro
- RocketGerman
- Dog Food Secrets
- Domain Dashboard
- Instant Article Submitter
- GuyGetsGirl
- Sure2Profit Calculator Pro
- Easy Trader
- SitNGo Pro
Don’t fall in love with the products, or think just because the numbers looked so good, but you haven’t made money that you need to keep the product. If you’re making money with it, hang on, otherwise select a different product. So before you proceed to day 3, go create your own list of 10-15 products. The one thing separating you from success is your ability to take action. If you don’t do this stuff, it’s never gonna happen. So complete days 1 and 2 before you proceed further. Let me know if you have questions.
