PPC Classroom Live, Vegas Style

Fellow affiliate ninjas! Thanks for dropping by my Affiliate Marketing Blog. Why not stay updated by subscribing to my RSS Feed or joining my Internet & Affiliate Marketing Newsletter? - Rian, Sept. 2007

If you’re a reader of this blog, or on any of the dozens of Internet marketing newsletters, then you’ve surely heard of PPC Classroom. The new PPC course caused quite a ruckus earlier this month, and you probably received more than a few emails about it.

We’ll, if you were one of the first people to buy the course (as I was), then one of the early bird specials was a ticket to the live seminar in Las Vegas which will be happening this weekend. I’ll be there too, so if you’re attending, come say hi. But of course all that was included was a ticket to the seminar itself, airfare and hotel fees are out of pocket. I’m in California, so a flight to Vegas wasn’t too bad, but I know a guy who’s attending coming all the way from Spain. Quite the flight, but I also know he does very well online so it probably didn’t hurt his pocket too much.

Anyway, I was somewhat late to get to studying the PPC Classroom material. I’m finally almost finished with it, about 1 more module to knock out before I go to the seminar. If you didn’t pick up PPC Classroom and are just getting started online, I can honestly say it will probably be your quickest A-Z path to making any money. A lot of the material for me wasn’t new since I’ve been studying the topic of Internet marketing and PPC for quite some time now. But if you’re brand new to this game, I would recommend the one time fee of $497 vs spending $97 here and there for individual ebooks that only give you a piece of the puzzle. PPC Classroom gives you the entire puzzle, plus the box cover, plus a how-to manual to get the pieces together.

When I started a couple of years ago, I certainly wish I had a course like this. Like many of us, I bought ebook after ebook looking for some magic bullet that was never there. Each ebook did teach me something new, some new technique I didn’t know, or some new way of looking at things. But it wasn’t until months later that I really had a compete birds eye view of Internet marketing and was able to wrap my head around the concept of how money was made on the Internet.

Looking back and trying to remember how I struggled, I can see that PPC Classroom would be what I could’ve used back then if it had existed. For example, one of my first ebooks was Google Cash. This book introduced me to the concept of Clickbank and affiliate programs, and vaguely introduced me to Google Adwords. So after finishing this ebook, I had more questions than answers. I threw up some ads, lost a bunch of money, paused my campaigns, and went looking for the next ebook for answers. This came to me in the form of Perry Marshall’s Definitive Guide to Adwords.

Now Perry’s guide is one that I’d still recommend today. I devoured the information and when I was done, felt much more confident in using Google Adwords. But I still didn’t understand other key concepts like email marketing, copywriting, presells, landing pages, keyword research, niche research, or autoresponders. Then there was adsense, arbitrage, domain auctioning, seo, bum marketing, web 2.0….the list of things to learn and study just went on and on.

In my case, what ended up happening is that I read up on all of these topics, and focused on none. Again, don’t do it. There’s an ancient Chinese saying: “He who chases two rabbits catches neither.” I’m certainly guilty of that. It wasn’t until I finally decided to stop everything and focus on what I was good at that I was able to make any money. And in my case again, PPC was what I really understood and was good at.

So if you haven’t purchased PPC Classroom and are serious about really making some money this year, it’s well worth the price tag. In addition to both the digital course and the physical product that comes to your house, you get access to Jeremy and Anik, the creators of PPC Classroom. They’re frequently in the forums answering user questions. Plus some of the audio interviews that come with the course are really encouraging. You’ll hear about a guy who started with nothing, making no money, but now spends up to $10,000 per day on Google Adwords (I can’t imagine). Just know that in this business its more of a “taking action” kind of thing rather than something you’ve been preselected to do. Seriously, anyone can make money on the Internet. With patience and determination, you can overcome the learning hurdles and make it work.

Anyway, without pimpin’ the course too hard, I just want to point you in the right direction if you’re not sure where to start. Like I said before, I wish I had something like PPC Classroom when I embarked on my online learning journey some time ago. It would have certainly cut down on my frustration, and cut the learning curve in half.

So tomorrow I’m off to Vegas for 3 days. I’m pretty excited as this is the first time I’ve been to an Internet marketing seminar. I’m not sure what will be taught that wasn’t already talked about in the PPC Classroom course, but I’m there more for the networking opportunities. Finding people who love this type of business as much as I do is rare, especially offline. So it will be exciting to finally meet some of the people who I read about so much or receive their newsletters. Jeremy Palmer of course is on my list of people I must meet, along with Anik Singal. I’m not too sure who else is speaking, but I hear there are some surprises planned. I’m taking a digital voice recorder and also taking notes, so if I learn anything breakthrough, you’ll be certain to find it posted here.

And if you’re also attending, I hope to meet you there.

Hey Rian, glad to see you blogging again! How would you compare PPC Classroom to the Xray training?

  • 2 Rian Brooklyn // Nov 30, 2007 at 01:35

Hmm…they’re different courses with different aims. I think Xray although very good, went a bit fast for most people and jumped in too deep for most. PPC Classroom is really a ground up approach that seems to tackle the bigger picture. I like both, but would probably recommend PPC over Xray since it’s a little more organized, and gives plenty of working examples to model from.

Hey Simon! Thanks for dropping by. Yeah, it was great to meet you too and hear your talk. It was certainly worth hearing. (Sorry you had to travel 45 hours to give it) I know that flight!

I’m local so if you’re ever in the area we should grab coffee or something.
