Fellow affiliate ninjas! Thanks for dropping by my Affiliate Marketing Blog. Why not stay updated by subscribing to my RSS Feed or joining my Internet & Affiliate Marketing Newsletter? - Rian, Sept. 2007
I apologize for any problems accessing my site within the last day. I was doing a routine backup, then an upgrade to Wordpress 2.1.3. I try to update as soon as possible, but 2.1.3 had already been out for a while and I was overdue to upgrade. Instead of a smooth update though, something went wrong and I lost all CSS formatting of my site. All seems to be ok now, but it took some digging through the WP forum to figure it out.
I also upgraded my GoTryThis installation to 1.39, which was an important security update that was recently released. GoTryThis is an affiliate link manager, which is a great tool, but can be a little tricky to get working with Wordpress.
I noticed that Google did their infrequent PR update yesterday. My blog officially is now a PR2, up from PR0. This was a little exciting knowing that my blogging and SEO efforts are working. My plan now is to get the entire site optimized with all on page factors and get my code XHTML compliant. Once that’s done, I’m probably going to hire someone from Elance to build links for me for the next 6 months.
I also learned of a way to get a one-way backlink from PR9 and PR10 sites, with the DOFOLLOW enabled. Perhaps once I test and implement it, I’ll post how to get these links. I’d be interested in seeing how my PR would jump if I were able to get backlinks from such high PR sites.
